Monday Update on a Tuesday
over 4 years ago – Tue, Aug 27, 2019 at 03:03:27 PM

Hello all,

We mentioned that we hadn't received the bases, so we thought we'd update you. We are still waiting. The company is saying that they have dispatched them, we've no tracking for them other than "leaving country of origin". So on Friday we ordered a second lot of bases (28,000 of them!) to cover our back, again they're coming from China, but these are with a guaranteed delivery of 3 weeks. We have looked at ordering them from the UK, but the prices we have been quoted are just too prohibitive. Whichever batch turns ups first we'll use for Townsfolk 1, and the remainder will be used for Townsfolk II. We will keep you updated as to when they arrive or if we get updated tracking info.

In other news the resin casting is going well, we're looking at around a week to finish it now.

As ever, if you have any questions or need to let us know of any changes, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Best wishes,

Jon & The Z1 Design Team

Production photos
over 4 years ago – Mon, Aug 19, 2019 at 11:11:27 PM

Production photos as promised. This is everything complete except the remaining gallows which we are working on.

I've put a close up of some of the 75mm miniatures, we will post more photos when we sort them for packing. (They are sorted in layers at the moment)

We will give you a shipping date in the next update, next week.

Hello all,

We said we'd post photos by the end of the week, but we're going to put it back till Monday.

"Why?" you ask, because on Monday, it should be easier when we move all the stock to another part of the workshop, as we want to take a photo to show you everything that is complete. From there we'll be finishing off the quality checking on the last batch of stock.

Best wishes,

Helen

Update

Hello all,

We are getting questions through the comments and through DMs, so we thought we'd answer some of them here as well, so that all backers know what's going on (and we've ensure that this update is public so it is visible to our late backers). We never want to be a company that doesn't respond or communicate, we really don't. We are trying to get on and get the product finished and shipped out to you, which in turn may have reduced our time available for answering questions or comments. As in previous updates, we can only apologise for the delay in this project, we underestimated the time on the resin casting.

Please remember that this is Kickstarter and we are a new business unlike some who use it as a type of online shop to promote the games. Even big companies can be 6 to 12 months late, even with experience of multiple Kickstarter projects before.

This project will ship. This project will be delivered. We will be posting photos of everything that is completed by the end of this week.

Quite a few people say that we haven't explained what the delay is, but we have, it's the amount of time that the resin casting is taking. What we are finding is that we can de-mould the models too soon as we get distortion otherwise.

We have also been asked why can we not send out the pledges that are ready to ship? We have only got the good deal on the shipping costs if we send them all out together, in bulk. If we split the shipping, the price increases and then has a knock-on effect elsewhere.

Another question is why can't we provide a specific date. In answer, we don't want to give you an exact date as we know if we go slightly past that, we know we're going to upset you guys.

Addresses in Backerkit. The shipping addresses are locked, but if you need to update them, please let us know.

We are trying to be as open and communicative as possible and we really can't wait for you to get the miniatures and see how you paint them and use them.
